Q: How much does concierge care membership cost?
A: We strive to keep membership rates reasonable and affordable. Please contact the office for more information regarding membership rates.
Q: Will my doctor still accept insurance?
A: Yes. Although Concierge Medicine of Jupiter is not an insurance plan, we do participate in selected insurance plans. We will also continue to accept Medicare as well.
Q: Do I still have to pay my co-pay, deductible or any other incurred charges outside of insurance?
A: Yes. We are not an insurance plan, your membership is a “value-added-service” fee and so you must still pay your co-pay, deductible and any other charges that your insurance does not cover. Patients are responsible for any fees associated with lab work, radiology or any other procedures performed at an outside facility.
Q: Is the program limited to a certain number of patients?
A: Yes. Physicians in a standard practice see approximately 20-30 patients per day, but we see only 6-8 patients per day. This is important so that we can set aside time to accommodate urgent/same day appointments and spend more time with each patient per visit.
Q: What happens if my doctor goes on vacation?
A: Hard to believe, but even doctors need some time off too. When we do, we have coverage to ensure concierge level care, 365 days per year.
Q: What happens if I am hospitalized?
A: We have full admitting privileges at Jupiter Medical Center and have been on staff for over 20 years. If for any reason you are at another hospital anywhere in the county or overseas, we will work together with the hospital staff and sub-specialists to coordinate your medical care during your hospitalization.
Q: What happens if I need a referral to a specialist?
A: Your concierge primary care physician is the “quarterback” of your medical team. One of their most important roles is to coordinate your care. When a specialist is needed, Dr. Drourr and Dr. Shtern will guide you through every step of the process. We may expedite the referral, coordinate all tests needed before the visit, make sure your records arrive in time, and make sure you feel as comfortable as possible every step of the way. We maintain a well curated list of specialists that we recommend- not only locally but nationally. Massachusetts General Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), Mayo Clinic, and Johns Hopkins Hospital, for example, are centers of excellence for which we have relationships with.
